Precision Fiber Microtome RMT-55

Radical Fiber Microtome is used to produce accurate cross-sectional specimens of fiber for further examination under a microscope. Fiber cross sections of varying thickness from 200 µm are produced for microscopic examination, measurement and identification.
It is suitable for cutting the sections of fibers for determination of diameter in any form by means of a Projection/Digital Microscopes. In the case of dyed, bleached or finished fibers, the diameter as determined may by different from that of the same fibers not subjected to such treatments. Further, the estimate of fiber diameter of the same lot of wool at the various stages of processing may not be the same

Hand Microtome Model RMT-5 is used to cut thin sections of Microscopic materials, such as specimen parts of plants and animals. It is considered as the basic form of a microtome permitting microtomic cuts by hand in a quick and accurate way. A well constructed hand operated bench microtome can be securely attached to the edge of any bench, table or work surface with the help of fixing clamp. Rocking Microtome RMT-10

Cambridge Rocking Microtome Model RMT - 10 is very well known and one of the best established microtomes in the world, which has given outstanding service to numerous microtomists through the years. Rotary Microtome RMT-20

The entire mechanism stands on a heavy cast iron base ensuring stability and rigidity. Its compound slide ways of critical tolerances guide the specimen block. The metal hinged cover housing protects the internal mechanism against dust and paraffin waste, it can be conveniently opened for resetting, cleaning and lubricating. The Microtome is driven by a handle which can also be locked. Cutting sections are obtained in different thickness by mechanically operated crank through a knurled knob in front of the instrument. The knurled knob is graduated in microns for feed setting and ready reference. A detent click action ensures positive adjustments in one micron increment.

The knife holder unit is equipped with a rotating knife clamp to adjust desired angles for best sectioning. It has forward and backward movements to ensure contact of specimen with the knife and lateral movement to get maximum use of knife edge. Smooth & accurate specimen movement is achieved with the time proven operating principles of the feed mechanism. Travel is entirely independent to the vertical movement of the specimen block. When the feed limit reaches to an end point, it disengages itself. To bring the feed screw back, the vice is pressed slightly and the main gear wheel is turned clockwise till the screw reaches its starting position. All parts are fabricated from selected alloys and the Microtome knife is manufactured from fine grain steel tested to maintain optimum sharpness strength.

Senior Precision Rotary Microtome RMT-30

RMT-30U (With Universal block holder)

RADICAL Senior Precision Rotary Microtome Model RMT - 30 is the most precise and uniform sectioning equipment for use in Medical Colleges, Universities, Research Laboratories, Hospitals and Educational Institutions. The internal mechanism and knife holder rests on a heavy-duty and rigid base to render a shake proof operation. The Protective aluminium cover is hinged to the base and swings back so that the interior parts are completely exposed for convenient setting, cleaning, lubrication etc. Feed mechanism is dependent upon the vertical movement of the object block. With every complete revolution of the counter balanced drive wheel, the feed pawl engages with the teeth of the ratchet gear which moves towards and advances the object holder through a cone inclined plane mechanism in precise increments so that the tissues can be sectioned even to a thickness of one micron. When the limit of the feed reaches at the end, a safety device automatically disengages the feed mechanism to prevent jamming and avoid damage to the feed screws. The feed indicator is graduated in microns, is conveniently located in the front for instant references and its setting is controlled by a knurled knob at the back of the microtome. The sturdy knife holder, in addition to knife elevating and leveling provides lateral movement for complete use of knife edge. The angle, adjustable up to 30o, is indicated on a reference scale. Freezing Microtome RMT-40

Freezing Microtome Model RMT - 40 is designed to the full purpose of accurate and quick diagnosis in surgery and also for the inspection of quality of rubbes and others. It has a table clamping device. The specimen rises accurately and automatically by a handle. The CO2 freezing attachment is provided with a hard rubber non-conducting plate between the corrugated surface to which the object is frozen and the rest of the apparatus, which prevents the conduction of heat from the other parts of the apparatus to the specimen; thus saving time and CO2. In operating this freezing attachment the valve at the bottom should first be closed and valve at the cylinder slightly opened to admit the gas into the tube.
The Automatic feed mechanism can be thrown out of action by turning the Index Finger to the extreme left or it may be set to cut sections of any desired thickness. Each division of the graduated scale marks 5 µm, the Microtome range being 5-40 µm. The sturdy Knife Holder can be tilted to a convenient angle of the Knife suitable to the object.

Sliding Microtome RMT-45

Sliding Microtome Model RMT - 45 is a standard sectioning instrument especially designed for Research Laboratories for cutting sections of paraffin as well as celloiden embedded specimens. Sliding Microtome is having the advantage of vertical object feed by Micrometer Screw and Cylinder so rigidly held that perfect immobility under the knife is ensured, even when cutting relatively large, hard and in homogeneous specimens.

The heavy knife block mounted on slideways can be actuated entirely by hand. The Microtome comprises of a stable heavy cast base stand on a precise sliding track over which slides a sturdy knife holder.
